Claudia López referred to a comment made by Vanessa de la Torre related to the form as she has referred to the Venezuelan population residing in Bogotá, and who at some point related to the criminal acts and crimes that have occurred in the city in recent weeks.

During the interview, the mayor of Bogotá tried to clarify that she has not generalized or stigmatized Venezuelans, but has explained the phenomenon that is experienced in the city.

Given this, the Caracol Radio journalist interrupted her and said: “It honestly surprises me, Mayor, You who are a lady who has been a defender of minorities, who comes out to protest, that all these things that deeply move her, what happened with the boys in September… ”.

“It surprises me a lot because it is almost saying that the violence of the Venezuelans is worse than the violence of the Colombians,” said Vanessa de la Torre.

Right away, Claudia López answered him and asked him for respect.

“No, I’m not saying almost any of that, Vane, and I ask you for respect and do not put words that I have not said, “said the president, on Caracol Radio.

Followed, he explained that what he said is that the city receives migrants “with all the love and with all the affection,” but that he does not consider normal that there are such high figures of the Venezuelan population related to thefts in Bogotá.

“That is not normal, we have to ask ourselves why it happens and it does not pass through one nationality or another, through undocumentation, through illegality (…)”, said the president.

Later, López explained that the foregoing means that criminals cannot be prosecuted and, therefore, greater impunity is generated.

“Those concrete things that we have to understand why they are happening and confront, we have to confront them”, Sentenced the ruler.
