1. Christmas Carol: ‘Bell on Bell’

Bell over Bell

Bell over Bell

Bell over Bell,
And on bell one,
Get close to the window,
You will see the child in the crib.

Bethlehem, bells of Bethlehem,
That the angels play
What news do you bring me?

Collected your flock
Where are you going shepherd boy?
I will take to the portal
Cottage cheese, butter and wine.

Bethlehem, bells of Bethlehem,
That the angels play
What news do you bring me?

Bell over Bell,
And about bell two,
Lean out of that window
Because God is being born.

Bethlehem, bells of Bethlehem,
That the angels play
What news do you bring me?

Walking at midnight
Where do you walk, pastor?
I take the child that is born
Like god my heart

Bethlehem, bells of Bethlehem
That the angels play
What news do you bring me?

2. Prayer for every day

Sentence

Kind God of infinite charity, who so loved men, that you gave them in your Son the best pledge of your love, so that made man in the womb of a virgin, he would be born in a manger for our health and medicine.

We, on behalf of all mortals, give you infinite thanks for such a sovereign benefit. In return to him we offer you the poverty, humility and other virtues of your humanized Son, pleading with you for his divine merits, for the discomfort with which he was born and for the tender tears he shed in the manger,
that you dispose our hearts with deep humility, with fiery love, with total disregard for all things earthly, so that the newborn Jesus may have his cradle in them and may dwell eternally. Amen.

(The Glory to the Father is prayed three times).

Glory be to the Father to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.

As it was in the beginning, now and forever, forever and ever. Amen

Obey the Word of God

Let’s read the Word of God

The Angel replied: Well, nothing is impossible for God. Mary answered: I am the Lord’s handmaid, let it be done to me according to your word (Lk 1, 37 – 38)

Mary believed that the impossible can be possible, which constitutes the challenge of faith. Zacharias doubted, Mary believed and was given the grace to conceive Jesus in her heart and in her womb. Believing, as has already been said, means putting ourselves at the service of the Word of God, allowing ourselves to be guided by it in the midst of personal and world circumstances. Mary understood and lived that faith is not reduced to the rational acceptance of a theory, but implies trust and obedience to the Word of God. She became God’s servant through trusting and loving obedience to the divine Word.

In this way, he contributed decisively to the realization of the plan of salvation. Mary learned that believing is not paralyzing waiting for God’s plans to unfold without our cooperation; to remain as a simple spectator who sees life from a box, but to collaborate effectively in the development of the Lord’s work. Thus the existence of Mary was fruitful, through her and in her womb salvation sprouted. Just as God wanted to count on the contribution of Mary, today the Lord counts on our faith and our obedience to his Word to continue carrying out his work in our world, especially in these difficult times that we are living in the wake of the pandemic.

Let us remember as a Church that we are called to bear fruit. And in this order of ideas we are called like Mary to listen and act in accordance with the Word of God. There are many who are lending their hearts and hands to God to comfort, heal and help those most affected by the crisis we are experiencing. On the contrary, to believe without commitment and action is to be like salt that becomes dull. Let the Lord set a new rhythm of obedience to his Word and fruitful cooperation
in the work of God.

Let’s take a step towards the Word

“Let us obey the Word of the Lord and we will bear abundant fruit.”

Aspirations for the arrival of the Christ Child

My sweet Jesus, my adored Child,
Come to our souls! Come, don’t take so long!

O Supreme Wisdom of the sovereign God,
that to infantile reach you lower yourself sacral!
Oh Divine Child, come to teach us
the prudence that makes true wise men!

O mighty Lord who spoke to Moses,
from Israel to the people you gave the commands!
Ah! come quickly to rescue us,
and may a weak child show a strong arm!

O sacred root of Jesse, who on high
present to the orb your fragrant tuberose!
Sweet Child that you have been called
lily of the valley, beautiful flower of the field!

David’s key that opens the outcast
the closed doors of the royal palace!
Take us out, O Child, with your white hand,
from the sad jail that sin made!

Oh fire of the East, sun of eternal rays,
May we see your splendor in the darkness!
Such a precious child, Christian happiness,
shine the smile of your sweet lips!

Mirror without spot, Holy of Holies,
unequaled image of the Sovereign God!
Erase our guilt, save the outcast
and, in the form of a Child, gives the miserable shelter!

King of nations, Immanuel illustrious,
I long for Israel, Shepherd of the flock!
Child who you feed with a soft staff
now the surly sheep, now the meek lamb!

Open up the skies and rain from on high
benefactor dew, like holy watering!
Come beautiful Child, come God humanized!
Shine beautiful star, sprout, flower of the field!

Come, Mary already prevents her arms,
do your Child see, in near time!
Come, that already José, with sacred desire,
he is preparing to take your sacred love!

From the weak help, from the suffering shelter,
consolation of the sad, light of the exiled!
Life of my life, my adored Owner,
my constant friend, my divine brother!

See my eyes of you in love!
Kiss your plants now! Kiss your hands now!
Prostrated on the ground, I stretch out my arms to you,
and even more than my phrases my cry tells you!

Come, our Savior, for whom we long,
come to our souls, come, do not take so longer!

9. Christmas Carol: ‘La nanita nana’

To the nanita nana

Nothing to nanita

To the nanita, nana, nanita
Nana, nanita ea
My Jesus is sleepy
Blessed be, blessed be (bis)

Cinnamon sprout
Lily in bud
Fall asleep my dear
While I lull you

Sleep that of the soul
My song sprouts
And a delusion of love
It’s every note

A la nanita, nana, nanita
Nana, nanita ea
My Jesus is sleepy
Blessed be, blessed be (bis)

Oh child in whose eyes
The sun shines
Close them close in the dark night
But close my eyes, your beautiful eyes
Even if your mother dies without seeing herself in them

To the nanita, nana, nanita
Nana, nanita ea
My Jesus is sleepy
Blessed be, blessed be (bis)

Little fountain that you run
Clear and sonorous
Nightingale that in the jungle
Singing cries
Hush while the crib
Sways
To the nanita, nana
Nanita ea

To the nanita, nana, nanita
Nana, nanita ea
My Jesus is sleepy
Blessed be, blessed be (bis)
