In addition to the measures adopted at the departmental level by the Antioquia Government temporary suspension of the Christmas lighting in Medellín, an announcement that was made this morning by Mayor Daniel Quintero.

This is how the surroundings of Parques del Río in Medellín have been seen these days. Despite the calls, many of the people who arrive with the intention of visiting the Christmas lighting of the city are agglomerating and are not complying with self-care measures, which is why the mayor made the decision to suspend them temporarily.

The decision is part of the package of measures that Medellín will take advantage of at Christmas and the end of the year, and among which there is also an extended curfew of 36 hours on December 24 and 31.

Given the accelerated increase in covid cases, the governor of Antioquia – after declaring the third hospital red alert in the region – asked the department mayors to consider this same measure, in case things get out of control.
