Santos’ resignation was confirmed hours later by Grupo Semana in a statement in which it was also announced that journalist Ricardo Calderón leaves the editorial direction of the magazine, a position he had recently assumed.
“Alejandro Santos and Ricardo Calderón retire from Week After a long career, in which their work as journalists contributed to building the most influential magazine in Colombia, recognized with multiple awards and accolades throughout all these years. It is worth mentioning that Santos and Calderón assumed those positions at the beginning of October as part of what that media called a “transformation process” at the time.

Vladdo posted on his Twitter account: “Starting today (this Tuesday), with great regret but with absolute determination, I am withdrawing from @RevistaSemana, of which I was a collaborator for 26 years.”
He explained that “it is not an easy decision”, but that he made that determination because he considers that, “under the new direction, it is evident that this publication will take a very different course and will cease to be the magazine to which I was proud to belong during most of my professional life. ”
