Catalina and Andrés Usme beat the final of the women’s League

Catalina and Andrés Usme, captain and coach of América de Cali, respectively, beat the grand final of the Women’s League, which will have its first leg this Thursday (8:00 pm).

The scarlet ’10’ emphasized that for her “the finals are separate matches where there is much to be disputed. It doesn’t matter what has happened before and if we are here it is for something”.

She added that she fully trusts her abilities and those of her colleagues. “We have many strengths, especially a solid block in defense. I am not saying that this is a cliché family, it is because it really is. I need to see my teammates and share with them, because we are part of a process wonderful”.

For his part, coach Andrés Usme stressed that, due to the short time in the League – approximately two months of competition – the performance of both teams has been very similar. “It’s like a Copa Libertadores or a World Cup. We are on an equal footing because we are eleven human beings against eleven others.”

He added that he was able to watch the cardinals’ games and that he knows what their strengths and weaknesses are. “There is not much planning because we had very close matches, but the same competition has damaged our strength,” he concluded.

For her part, Fany Gauto, captain of Santa Fe, dedicated a few words to Catalina. “She is a benchmark here in Colombia and I would say that we both have a similar game, but we have had an extraordinary campaign and we have everything to win.”

Albeiro Erazo, coach of the Bogota women, denied that the fact that his team has played more games (he was in a group of five teams) has affected them. “We have worked very hard so that it did not happen, in addition the finals are miraculous because they take away pain and injuries.”
