Cartagena’s beaches reopen and the mayor is the first to return to the sea

After several months, This Thursday the bathers finally returned to the beaches of Cartagena. Only one area came into operation under strict biosafety protocols.

The first to enter the water was the mayor of Cartagena, William Dau. Their emotion was the same that surely felt the first tourists, who after almost seven months of closure, became the first visitors.

The access protocols are strict. Only those who have made a previous reservation through the web can enter http://reservadeplayas.cartagena.gov.co; Availability will be in shifts: in the morning, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., whose entry will be between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and for the afternoon shift, from 2:00 p.m. m. at 5:00 pm, with the option of entry between 1:00 and 2:00 in the afternoon.

“There is no cost to use the beach, but there are some services that community members sell to whoever wants to take them”, said Luis Enrique Roa, Director of Distriseguridad.

“To all Colombians who are going to come to Cartagena at the end of the year, here there will be no harassment from vendors, there will be vendors, yes, but when the swimmer requires a service, he goes to them,” explained William Dau.

Playa Azul has a maximum capacity of 520 people, which can be located in 94 modules designed for up to six visitors. The use of a mask is mandatory and can only be removed to enter the sea.

In addition, the beach was classified into zones, one for boats, for bathers, there is a rest or rest area and another for sunbathing. It is important to note that in these areas you will not be able to eat any kind of food.
