It wasn’t long before the church met two families from the neighborhood, who in previous years had apparently had problems involving several of their members with gangs. The atmosphere went from calm to murky.

The tension was evident and in the blink of an eye – witnesses said – what no one expected happened. The young people of one of these families, upon entering the church, drew revolvers and began to shoot “crazy” at those present.
But they did not count on the priest of the parish ordering to close the doors immediately to avoid a tragedy in the house of God.
