This December 25, 2020, after 08:00 am and in full curfew, a Spark car with BXD 222 plates ran over a motorcycle with FLE-88E plates, where Yaneth Quintero and her husband were mobilizing.

Minutes later, the 33-year-old nurse passed away, while her husband was taken to the La Merced Clinic.

After the accident, the driver did not stop and continued on his way with the motorcycle attached to the defense of the car. The vehicle stalled near the intersection with 48th Street, almost two squares after the accident.

Brigadier General Luis Ernesto García, commander of the Bucaramanga Metropolitan Police, confirmed that the man had been captured.

“The Police captured the 28-year-old man, who was mobilizing in the private vehicle and ran over the nurse,” the Officer explained.

For its part, the Traffic Department confirmed to VANGUARDIA that the man driving the Spark gave a grade 1 breathalyzer test.

“The man gave grade 1 in the breathalyzer test. With the Traffic Directorate, the procedure is punishable by drunkenness and it is reviewed if he is a repeat offender to take away his driving license. The person has already been available to the Prosecutor’s Office,” Andrea commented Juliana Méndez, Director of Bucaramanga Transit.
