The child was abandoned in the vicinity of the Hope Memorial Gardens Cemetery
and the authorities later revealed that the person responsible had been his mother, whom the minor could only identify as Katy.

Seeing the photograph that the Hinckley Police, in Ohio, U.S
, published in their networks, Tony’s father contacted them and told them that the one in charge of the child’s care was his former partner.

A witness told authorities that he had seen the boy running with his dog behind a car that sped away.

Hinckley Police Chief David Centner reported that the boy “was placed back in the care of his father and was reunited with his dog. I spoke to his father and he thanked everyone for their generosity and said Tony is doing great. I want to make it clear that the father was not involved in any way in this incident and has been very cooperative.

The boy’s mother receives care at a local medical center and her identity will not be revealed until she is officially charged with abandoning her son.

On the other hand, the officer made a call to those who have generously sent gifts for Tony, since the date his mother left him was shortly before Christmas.

Although she expressed her gratitude for so much love and solidarity for the child, “we would ask that no more gifts be delivered to the Police department. If you feel the need to help, check with your local communities, as there is always something to offer them.

“We are truly honored by the response, not just locally, but across our great country,” he added.
