Army sources confirmed to EL TIEMPO that in the early hours of this Thursday A bombing operation was launched against an Eln camp that was located on the border between the departments of Antoquia and southern Bolívar.
By land, troops are entering the area to verify the scope of the operation since it was apparently directed against two heads of the guerrilla structure.
Preliminary information obtained by this newspaper indicates that the operation was launched against the Eln’s Darío Ramírez Castro front, whose main boss is alias El Mocho.
The camp was located in rural Montecristo south of Bolívar.
The operation was coordinated from the command of the Military Forces and was carried out based on military intelligence work, which days ago had been following the movements of “the whites” or guerrilla leaders.
The troops, as soon as they secure the area, will give way to the entry of the personnel of the Judicial Police and the CTI of the Prosecutor’s Office to carry out the judicial and legal proceedings, for an eventual removal of corpses.
