Bogotá’s El Dorado Airport is now open: this was the emergency

That entity explained that the temporary closure of the El Dorado airport occurred around 7 in the morning of this Friday 22 of January.

This was due to the haze that could hinder visibility of the pilots and controllers aerial, reported in the letter.

He also explained that this closure applied to both flights that are arriving as for those that were going to leave of Bogotá in the first hours of the morning of this Friday.

The Civil Aeronautics added that it was budgeted for the closure to be for just over an hour.

“Immediately the meteorological conditions allow it and a safe air operation can be restarted, it will be reported,” said Aeronautics in its letter.

Similarly, the entity made a call to travelers to contact their airlines to know the status of the flights and thus determine if there were changes in the itineraries.

At around 9 a.m. this Friday, the El Dorado airport, quoted by Caracol Radio, reported that the operation at the air terminal was already returning to normal.
