The district presented the new fleet of yellow buses of the Integrated Public Transport System (SITP) of Euro VI technology to natural gas and diesel.
There are 48 out of 66 cars assigned to the system in the Perdomo sector, in the town of Ciudad Bolívar. They will carry out the Galicia – Chapinero, Galicia – Germania and Madelena – Corabastos routes.
These vehicles are linked to the provision of the public transport service of zonal routes and each one will have capacity for 80 passengers. The entire fleet can mobilize around 5,000 users.
These buses have emission control technology, as they have a diesel filter that retains particulate matter and thus prevent it from reaching the atmosphere. According to TransMilenio, this system would allow a reduction of about 95 percent of emissions.
“They are going to allow users to enjoy better service and cleaner air,” said Felipe Ramírez, general manager of TransMilenio. He explained that these vehicles with clean technologies are yellow so that passengers can identify them.

The manager confirmed that the fleet was imported in that color, as this was requested from the manufacturer, so it does not generate any additional cost for the city.
The buses were manufactured in China and arrived in the country through the port of Buenaventura and from there to Bogotá. He also assured that only new acquisitions will arrive painted, and it is not contemplated to do so with those who are already in the capital.

Similarly, in a statement, TransMilenio assured that the blue buses that are in a parking lot are not waiting to be painted, but to go through a process of isolation, in which all the technology, signage is incorporated and the registration and approval procedures are carried out.
This in reference to the initial intention to paint those vehicles green. In fact, Mayor Claudia López indicated a few days ago that they would be painted if they found a sponsor, which could be Enel-Codensa.
