Bogotá: Videos show who overturned a salesman’s position blaming the police – Investigative Unit

At around 11 in the morning of this Saturday, the representative to the Chamber of the Green Party Inti Asprilla denounced what for him would be a case of police harassment and abuse.

“This reprehensible outrage suffered by Alexander and his partner, young people who seek their livelihood in the streets of the center deserves all the rejection. He claims to have had a discussion with @ClaudiaLopez prior to the police harassment and abuse“, he wrote in his networks.

And he uploaded a video in which a street vendor cries next to his overturned car and says: “Look how they left my car.”

People sympathize with the seller, who assures that he goes out to ‘search’ and that they were moving him from the corner of Carrera Séptima with Avenida Jiménez, in Bogotá.Find here other news from the Investigative Unit

The other video

However, there is another video in which it is shown that, although he is being asked to get off the road, a patrolman asks him to calm down and, seconds later, it is the seller himself who throws his car.

“Come on brother, calm down, calm down“The policeman told him. Then the vendor pushes the fast food cart.”Take it, take it, you’re going to take it“replies the seller indignantly.

In another video, after the incident, the seller is seen surrounded by more police and people who supported him: “The mayor herself told me that she gave me work when she passed by here (…) I never let my car be taken“added the seller.

“It’s not fair, what are the alternatives“, the seller points out.
