Bogota | Smoke alarm near the Historic Center of Bogotá – Bogotá

A fire in an establishment near the Historic Center of Bogotá set off alarms in the city. It was the El Dorado billiards factory in the Las Cruces neighborhood, in which they stored resins as raw material.

Members of the Fire Department of the Centro Histórico and Central stations reported that the fire is already 90% under control, and that one of the rescuers was injured when he was accidentally hit by a trash can. The uniformed man is being evaluated by an ambulance from the Ministry of Education.

Inside the factory, the fire fighting units that attended the conflagration found three gas cylinders compromised in the emergency, they also had to activate the Bogotá Fire Department’s Dangerous Materials Group because next to this building there is a chemical warehouse.

For prevention, the inhabitants of three blocks around the place, located on Calle 2b with Carrera 5a, were evacuated.

Citizens alerted by the great smoke that came out of the building, the authorities explained that it was the product of the conflagration of the resin that was inside the establishment.
