Bogota | Recommendations for return operation, January 2021 – Bogotá

[ad_1]

This Sunday the first Operation Return of 2021. In the case of Bogotá, it is estimated that 600,000 people will return to the capital in about 270,000 vehicles.

This massive return prompted district authorities to raise alarms and make recommendations.

“With the return of people we are going to have an increase in interactions and, therefore, a pressure on the contagion of covid-19 in Bogotá. Let us remember that ICU occupancy (for covid-19) is at 75.2% and so we want to recommend to the households that, when they return, do voluntary isolation“, assured the Mayor (e) of Bogotá, Luis Ernesto Gómez.

It is recommended that this completely voluntary isolation be of seven days. This would allow to detect if there are symptoms or, at least, to prevent new contacts. “Avoid meetings with friends and visits during these days. And if you have to go out to stock up, do it only one person per family nucleus and remembering that there is a peak and a card in Bogotá,” added Gómez.

Other recommendations for travelers

– In case of traveling by private car: Keep windows open, wear face masks, and avoid eating, singing, or yelling inside the vehicle. Covid-19 transmission is through aerosols (saliva and particles that are expelled when speaking).
