This Thursday, after knowing the fateful balance of at least eight deaths that left Wednesday night in the middle of the protests for an act of police brutality that ended the life of Javier Ordóñez, the demonstrations in the city were reactivated.

On the afternoon of this Thursday, marches were presented in several cities of the country, mainly in Bogotá, Medellín and Barranquilla. In some areas, there have been riots and clashes.

Candle for young people killed on Wednesday
In the Verbenal neighborhood, Usaquén, and in other areas of the capital, a vigil is held for the death of at least eight young people in the midst of the demonstrations on Wednesday.
Order begins to be restored in CAI de Villaluz
After tough confrontations, order returned to the CAI of Villaluz. Order was also restored in Fontibón.
They denounce that police shoot at protesters
Users on social networks report that police officers confront protesters and shoot in the Venice neighborhood.
TM operation ends for today
Due to the security and mobility conditions due to the demonstrations, TransMilenio reported that at this time they are suspending the operation in all its components.

Additionally, the Mayor’s Office announced this Wednesday there were 100 people affected by the excesses.
Preliminary balance of the demonstrations
The authorities report that, for now, with a cut-off at 4 in the afternoon this Thursday, there are:
– 188 police officers injured (179 in Bogotá, 7 in Cundinamarca and 2 in Medellín)
– 8 people died (5 in Bogotá and 3 in Soacha)
– 209 injured individuals admitted to hospitals in Bogotá.
– 60 police facilities affected (6 stations vandalized and 54 CAI affected)
Operation is canceled at some TransMilenio points
The Ministry of Mobility informs that the operation is canceled in the TransMilenio North Portal due to manifestations unrelated to the operation. In addition, the Alquería station is closed.
The food service in Portal 80, Portal Américas and Portal Sur is also canceled.
Disturbances in the CAI of Villa Luz, in Bogotá
Protesters confront members of Esmad in the vicinity of the CAI where the lawyer who died during police proceedings was taken.
Demonstration sites
The Ministry of Mobility reports damages in Suba Rincón, Verbenal, clashes on Carrera 106 with Calle 14 and demonstrations on Calle 13 with Carrera 65, affecting a shopping center.

At the intersection between Avenida Ciudad de Cali and Carrera 93 there is a block with road damage. Protesters burn on public roads.
The Ministry of Mobility reports blockades from 4:15 pm in Suba Rincón (Carrera 93 with Calle 128c), in front of the CAI.
Also in the CAI Verbenal, (Calle 187 with Carrera 19).
Alcala Park
Another meeting point will be the Alcalá park, where a sit-in is called at 4:30 pm and a candlelight starts at 5:30 pm “Until dignity becomes customary,” is the phrase that accompanies this call.
Another call is at the North Portal, at 5 pm; another at the CAI on July 20 for a candlelight at 6 pm, among others.
In the capital there are several concentration points. One of them is the portal of the 80, of the TransMilenio system, where they summon a cacerolazo and sit-in from 5 pm “We will no longer tolerate state terrorism,” says the call.
CAI burns in Verbenal
After noon, the CAI of Verbenal, an area north of Bogotá, where disturbances occurred on Wednesday and where some of the people who were killed in events that are the subject of investigation were registered.

Other cities
In Barranquilla They are calling at the Autonomous University of the Caribbean, starting at 4 pm, and they assure that in addition to the acts of police violence, they are protesting against femicides and other murders of black people, LGBT, among others.
For its part, in Medellin They convene from 3 pm in the Parque de los Deseos, in the north of the city.
Meanwhile in Manizales convened at the Torre del Cable at 6:30 pm
