Bogotá: Claudia López offers vaccines from Bogotá to the Amazon – Bogotá

Mayor Claudia López offered this Monday part of Bogotá’s quota of vaccines for the Amazon, a department that faced a strong first spike of covid-19 infections and where concerns about the eventual arrival of the Brazilian variant have recently focused.

In a tweet, the Bogota president said that “Amazonas is right to ask for more vaccines. Not only have they been severely affected by covid-19, but they face the threat of the Brazilian strain.

López states that, “With pleasure, he gives part of his allowance so that more health personnel are covered there”.

The president also said that she is sure that “other cities will do the same.”

This Monday Claudia López had expressed, also on social networks, her disagreement with the National Government for allegedly delaying the distribution of vaccines to cities like Bogotá due to “the political preferences of the Presidency to take the photo of the first vaccination.”
