Claudia López, Mayor of Bogotá, attacked Enrique Peñalosa this morning. The president He said that the former mayor left lawsuits with the project of the Green Corridor of the Transmilenio trunk for the seventh race.
“Enrique Peñalosa says that he left that project ready. No, the only thing he left ready was a lawsuit with the neighbors, a legal lawsuit, and 2 billion dollars in bullets,” López denounced.

However, the Mayor mentioned that these judicial problems were resolved thanks to an agreement between the Mayor’s Office, the IDU and the TransMilenio company,
with Senator Rodrigo Lara, plaintiff in the popular action against the trunk for that avenue. So it will no longer be necessary to pay the sum of money of 2.1 trillion pesos, as notified by the 23 Administrative Court of the Bogotá Circuit.
In addition, López thanked to the Bogotá Council for having approved the Debt Quota with which this corridor will be financed. He also mentioned that in order to avoid these inconveniences in future projects, it is necessary to have the support and conciliation of the community.
It should be clarified that, under the mandate of Enrique Peñalosa, from 2016 to 2019, it was proposed that for the seventh race a TransMilenio trunk was made, of which studies and designs were made. The project even entered the bidding process for 2.3 billion pesos. But four judicial processes appeared against him that stopped the tender.

In 2020, the Mayor of Claudia López suspended said TransMilenio tender, to end up proposing what will be the Green Corridor, which at this moment is in the phase of participation and co-creation with the public to determine what will be done on the road. Only until 2021 would the bidding be made for the work and until 2024 it would be delivered to Bogotá.
