Bogotá: A ‘pirate’ driver who would have run over the SITP operator – Bogotá

The Office of the Attorney General of the Nation presented Maicol Alexánder Suárez Herrera, driver of a public service bus that would have run over and caused the death of a SITP driver, on December 28, in Ciudad Bolívar before a guarantee control judge.

“The prosecutor in charge of the investigation charged the accused with the crimes of aggravated homicide and aggravated damage to the property of another. The charges were not accepted by the 18-year-old man, who must comply with an assurance measure in a prison, ”they explained to the Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the testimonies and evidence, the victim claimed Suárez
Herrera because with the van he was driving, he hit one of the mirrors of the SITP bus. The person responsible for the crash apparently escaped from the scene. The affected person chased him to the streets of a neighborhood in the town, drove his car through and stopped in front of him to prevent him from escaping.

“Faced with this situation, Maicol Alexander Suárez Herrera, supposedly, sped up, rammed the SITP official and dragged him 100 meters. Later, he tried to flee the place; however, he was intercepted by the community and the Bogotá Metropolitan Police surveillance patrols ”, they specified.

The Prosecutor’s Office verified that the captured man provided the public transport service informally, did not have documents of the vehicle he was driving and his driving license was not suitable for this type of vehicle.
