The mayor of Bogotá, Claudia LopezHe stressed that the basic income program for the most vulnerable households in the city will continue these four years.

“The Basic Income program will remain these 4 years, we know that there are families in poverty who need it, so it will continue”, The mayor stressed this Thursday, in the town of Ciudad Bolívar during a local government council.

Regarding education, the mayor stressed that in December of this year the new headquarters of the Ciudad Bolívar District University will be ready with 3,000 new places for young people in this town.

He also assured that in two weeks the local emergency jobs program will start, as part of the economic reactivation strategy in the city.

Regarding the concerns of citizens about cultural projects, López explained that due to the current situation in the city due to the pandemic, resources were focused on basic income and markets to serve the families that have needed it most throughout these such difficult months.

However, he reiterated that next year all the cultural initiatives in the town will be strengthened, without neglecting the basic income programs.
