Barranquilla reports 97 cases of Covid and one deceased

Colombia added another 7,561 infections and 192 deaths from covid-19 this Wednesday, figures with which the country reached 981,700 cases and 29,464 deaths, according to the Ministry of Health.

The health entity reported that 173 of the deaths registered today occurred in previous days, so that on this day only 19 cases were counted.

The deaths occurred in Antioquia (33), Bogotá (23), Valle del Cauca (22), Tolima (17), Santander (15), Quindío (12), Huila (11) and Cesar (7).

There were also deaths in Caquetá and Cauca (6); Caldas (5); Cundinamarca, Magdalena and Norte de Santander (4); Boyacá, Córdoba, Nariño, Risaralda and Atlántico (3); La Guajira (2); and Arauca, Bolívar, Casanare, Meta, Putumayo and San Andrés (1).

Regarding contagions, Bogotá and Antioquia continue to be the regions that report the highest number of new infections daily, and respectively registered 2,557 and 1,365 cases in the last 24 hours.

There were also high figures in the departments of Valle del Cauca (592), Cundinamarca (271), Huila (246), Caldas (236), Risaralda (212), Santander (205) and Boyacá (194).

Other areas with more than 100 infections were Norte de Santander (174), Cesar (157), Atlántico (151), Tolima (148), Cauca (115), Meta (104) and Nariño (104).

The regions that accumulate the highest number of positive cases are Bogotá, with 302,268; followed by Antioquia (147,450), Valle del Cauca (75,764), Atlántico (70,142), Cundinamarca (39,150), Santander (38,379), Bolívar (31,648), Córdoba (25,600) and Cesar (24,051).

In the country 65,099 infections remain active, corresponding to 6.63% of the total, while there are 884,895 recovered, which is equivalent to 90.1%.

Today 47,238 tests were processed, 34,539 of them type PCR and another 12,699 of antigens, with which 4.56 million tests have been carried out in the country.
