This Wednesday, FC Barcelona won their Champions League debut 5-1 against Ferencvaros, a triumph that was expected by all.
After that, the club’s social media renewal of the four-player contract was made official, although, obviously, Lionel Messi is not there.
Almost a month ago, Josep María Bartomeu had stated that there was a group of players who were not transferable and from that group Ter Stegen, Lenglet and De Jong had already renewed.
The renewal of Gerard Piqué also caused surprise, who signed a new contract that binds him to the club until 2024, despite the fact that for several seasons he has been highly criticized.
Ter Stegen signed a contract until 2025, Lenglet did so until 2026, as did De Jong, who has only been at the club for a season.
Termination clauses
Pique: contract until June 30, 2024 with a clause of 500 million euros. The extension will be subject to Piqué adding a certain number of games in the 2021-2022 season.
Ter Stegen: contract until June 30, 2025 with termination clause is set at 500 million euros.
Lenglet: contract until June 30, 2026 with termination clause is set at 300 million euros.
From Jong: contract until June 30, 2026 with termination clause is set at 400 million euros.
