While the investigation is progressing around the balloon that hit an Avianca plane on December 31 at Bogotá’s El Dorado airport, Civil Aeronautics pointed out that everything points to the device being launched from the Aburrá Valley (Antioquia).

Faced with this finding, they reiterated to the public the call to avoid the manipulation of these artifacts, without control and not authorized, “since they put air safety at risk.”
Aerocivil also told city halls and recreation institutes to refrain from authorizing this type of launch.
At the moment it has not been established exactly from which of the ten municipalities that make up the Aburrá Valley the balloon that caused this situation was launched.
