W Radio learned that Avianca during this Friday notified in an internal discussion to several of its employees that their salary will be reduced to the minimum wage. Monthly legal in force, especially for company workers who are on unpaid leave and contract suspension.

When inquiring with the airline, it told W Radio, that it should be taken into account that at the moment it is only having income from freight transportation and in this context, it recalled that since the crisis caused by the Covid-19 began, the company had assured 100% of its employees that they would have some type of remuneration regardless of whether they are working or not, including those who They are on unpaid leave for those who will mainly apply this measure, thus fulfilling their commitment not to leave any of their workers without income.

As for the workers who are active and in full function of their work, the company notified that it will be their decision if they accept to lower their salary, which would also have an additional percentage on what they end up earning.
Avianca finally assured that sick and Pregnant women will continue to receive 100% of their remuneration.
