At noon this Friday, the Minister of Justice, Wilson Ruiz Orejuela, confirmed that the extradition to the United States of attorney María Claudia Fernanda Lorza Ramírez was approved.
“According to the investigations, (Lorza) offered to include alleged drug traffickers, detained in Colombia, in the lists of former members of the Farc to evade their extradition“, assured Ruiz.
According to the minister, the lawyer provided fraudulent documentation “to make appear in the records of the demobilized of the Farc to at least six drug traffickers“.
The Supreme Court of Justice upheld the extradition of the lawyer on December 1, 2020, who is requested by a Texas Court in the United States on four counts.
The Court only approved his extradition for obstruction of justice.

The file says that the lawyer, since 2016, met with other people to prevent extradition requests from being sent to that country and mentions defendants such as Juan Carlos Melo Guerrero, alias Aurelio; Ramiro Figueroa Legarda, alias Rocco; Gerardo Enrique Obando Montaño alias Cheko, and Tomas Martínez Minota, alias Pataso.
He offered to include alleged drug traffickers, detained in Colombia, on the lists of former members of the Farc to evade their extradition.
According to some testimonies, the lawyer asked the possible beneficiaries for sums of up to $ 500,000 for putting them on the lists. Many gave millionaire sums and the woman did not comply.
On the other hand, Minister Ruiz pointed out that the extradition of Cirilo Góngora Cuero, who, according to the authorities, was in charge of “was also approved.Recruit the crew of semi-submersibles and speedboats used to bring cocaine to Central and North America via the Pacific routes“.

Ruiz assured that During December 2020, 17 executive extradition resolutions were issued, 13 of them for drug trafficking.
