For a month, the Medellín Metro has been preparing for the moment when there will be an economic reactivation in the region and a possible increase in the percentage of occupancy in its trains, trams, cable cars and buses, which is today at 35 % as provided by the National Government.
In view of the gradual reopening of the economy from next week and the announcement by the National Government of the increase in vehicle occupancy in the massive transportation systems in the country, the metro network announced the measures it will take:
– From this Monday the Metro will reinforce the Self-Care Route, which is a series of practices that users must apply before entering the System and during their stay in it to prevent the spread of the virus. Likewise, there will be educational guides that will support the operation of the stations and guide users in their movements.

– Biosecurity standards and prevention measures such as controls at entry from the station squares by the Police and Metro personnel to guarantee the maximum occupancy authorized by the National Government.
– Given the possibility of the arrival of more users, It is recommended to schedule trips with more time in advance, arrive with the Cívica recharged and pay attention to the recommendations. Likewise, the demarcation of tracks in vehicles and stations and operation with 100 percent of the available fleet will be maintained.
– From the first of September the north access of the Alpujarra station will be enabled between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm for the entry and exit of passengers. At the moment in which the authorization announced by the National Government to increase the maximum occupancy of 35% (which is still in force today) becomes official, additional measures will be announced.
– The use of a mask is mandatory and permanent for all passengers.
– Users are also recommended recharge the Cívica card through virtual channels arranged by the company for this purpose.
