When the energy users of the Caribbean region were informed about the distribution of the operation of the two new energy companies that will operate in replacement of Electricaribe, it was reported that, for the Magdalena, the Atlántico and La Guajira, it would operate Aire, also known as Caribe Sol.
On the other hand, the company Afinia, known as Caribe Mar, he would be in charge of the departments of Bolívar, Sucre, Córdoba and Cesar.
However, in the case of Magdalena, the reality of the new energy operation is more complex than it seems. Actually, this department will be operated by the two companies. Yes, as you read it, both Caribe Mar (Afinia) and Caribe Sol (Air) will have management in the different municipalities of Magdalena.
The reason for this situation is due to the fact that, internally, 19 municipalities of Magdalena are connected to a circuit that corresponds to Aire (Caribe Sol), while the other 11 municipalities of the department are connected to networks connected to Cesar, which corresponds to Afinia (Caribbean Sea).
So the actual distribution for Magdalena is like this:
Municipalities operated by Aire (Caribe Sol)
Aracataca
Hill of San Antonio
Chibolo
Swamp
Concord
The Pinion
The Retention
Foundation
Pedraza
Pivijay
Plato

Magdalena is the only department that will be under the umbrella of the two energy companies that, as of October 1, will begin operating.
