Atlético Nacional beat Atlético Bucaramanga as a visitor 1-2, at stake for date 12 of the 2020 Colombian League. The purslane team had a few minutes of brilliance from Andrés Andrade with the assists and Jarlan Barrera with Déinner Quiñones as the scorers that were enough to prevail against a Santander team that was not clear in their game and did not take advantage of the chances they generated.
The first 9 minutes of the game became intense and with arrivals in both areas. Bucaramanga came out at speed, beating the back of Nacional’s defenders and they generated a couple of occasions that disturbed José Cuadrado’s goal.
At minute 10, a change of front by Helibelton Palacios from right to left, was received by Andrés Andrade, who entered the area and sees Jarlan Barrera well positioned, the samarium eluded two players, finishing the ball with his left leg, opening the scoring for the Antioquia team.
After the goal, Bucaramanga lost ground and little by little the visit settled him in his area. Nacional held the ball and reacted promptly to the loss. Averaging the half hour of play, Bucaramanga regained control of the ball and continued attacking on the wings, Nacional, although he was above the scoreboard, could not finish subduing his rival, he lacked depth in the last third of the opposite field.
At minute 39 and after a collective move, Andrés Andrade handed the ball to Déinner Quiñones from the right sector, who hooked in and finished off with effect, far from the reach of Jefferson Martínez, increasing the score for the purslane team.
After Nacional’s second goal, Atlético Bucaramanga sped through the left sector through Johan Caballero, who entered the area and after eluding a defender, he located Germán Gutiérrez who arrived at the area and finished off to the right side of the goal guarded by José Cuadrado, discounting on the scoreboard.
At minute 45, Déinner Quiñones was fouled by the Uruguayan Steve Makuka, to which the referee Nicolás Gallo went to check him for the VAR. After six minutes and after noting the foul, Gallo sent Makuka off for a stomp on Quiñones’ Achilles heel, being a reckless move. The referee ended the first half after the sanction.
In the complementary stage, the premises went out to look for the tie, while the visit did not achieve a balanced game. Nacional when he recovered the ball, he needed to be precise and dare more to finish off.
At minute 13, Helibelton Palacios lost the mark with Germán Gutiérrez and the Bucaramanga side was fouled, Gallo did not hesitate to send him off and for protesting, the referee sent coach Juan Carlos Osorio off.
The leopard continued attacking on the wing against a Nacional who had no reaction and also did not know how to take advantage of the 13 minutes that one man had too many. The purslane team made their first approach in the second half at minute 20, with a cross from the right sector to Fabián González Lasso, who failed to connect with the ball.
Between minute 25 and 30, Nacional recovered the ball and disturbed with mid-distance shots that goalkeeper Martínez intervened with solvency. Bucaramanga waited until minute 33 to make his first variant.
In the end, Atlético Nacional got a second win that consolidates it at the top of the table. Against a Bucaramanga who lacked ambition and failed to take advantage of the defensive advantages left by his rival.
On the next date, Atlético Bucaramanga visits Alianza Petrolera at the Daniel Villa Zapata stadium. For its part, Atlético Nacional receives Junior at Atanasio.
