Arturo Char signed this afternoon the dismissal of Eduardo Pulgar, who is being held in preventive detention in La Picota prison for alleged influence peddling. The president of the corporation made the decision after the ten congressmen of the Congressional Ethics Commission asked him to speed up the ruling, based on their legal situation.
Char and the imprisoned senator were political opponents since last year Pulgar defeated the family clan in one of their political strongholds: the Mayor’s Office of Soledad. There he managed to position his brother-in-law Rodolfo Ucros, who had the endorsement of the conservatives, the U and the Democratic Center.
Pulgar’s dismissal comes 15 days after he was captured at the El Dorado airport by order of the Supreme Court of Justice, where magistrate Marco Rueda is leading the investigation. The president of the U Party, Dilian Francisca Toro, made the decision to immediately suspend the congressman’s membership in the community.
