Army defuses explosives in Hacarí

The National Army reported that it destroyed in a controlled manner two explosive devices in the urban area of ​​the municipality of Hacarí, “with terrorist intentions of the organized armed group Eln,” they indicated.

They added that the high destructive power of the artifacts caused some damage to nearby homes, without major consequences and that these devices were going to be activated by the members of the Public Force that is in the said municipality of Catatumbo, in Norte de Santander.

In this area there are about a thousand soldiers who belong to the National Army Rapid Deployment Force and there is also a strong presence of the Eln and Epl guerrillas, which are currently maintaining an armed confrontation for control of the territory.

That dispute has left dozens of civilian victims, in addition to numerous mass displacements from rural communities.
