The authorities have not clarified the circumstances in which a case of violence was presented against four people who were engaged in cycling outside the municipality of Jamundí. One of them was found murdered.
In the area they speak of a band associated with the so-called ‘Clan del Golfo ¿and’ Pelusos’. Authorities do not rule out dissent.
The incidents occurred around 11:00 am on Sunday in the so-called Alto de Vélez, in the San Vicente district, about 27 kilometers from the urban area of Jamundí, on the route that leads to the Farallones National Natural Park.
The version says that four amateur cyclists traveled through that area of ascent in the mountain, to which some of the cyclists who practice this sport arrive on weekends.
On the way they were intercepted by armed men who held them, but three of them were released. Then they killed the man they had detained, a 45-year-old man, who would be a retired Army colonel.
The homicide was confirmed after 2:00 p.m. Sunday.
The mayor of Jamundí, Andrés Felipe Ramírez, confirmed and regretted the death.
Honorable citizens.
I’m sorry to report that we have a murder case in the rural area. This is a 46-year-old person.
A reprehensible fact, because life is sacred.

The local authorities have not provided more details or confirmed the identity of the victim, although it is said in networks that he had been a military man. It was only indicated that a security council will be held.
Citizen sectors and groups of cyclists consider the act serious because it is an area that did not present major cases of insecurity, although gangs that are supported by coca cultivation and illegal mining in Farallones, which includes the municipalities of Jamundí, Cali, Dagua and Buenaventura.
