A metallic monolith, similar to those found in the United States, Russia, Romania and even Chía (Cundinamarca), appeared this first of January near Salisbury, publishes the ITV News channel.

The first to find the strange object was Jon scammell, a cameraman for that British channel, which posted a couple of videos on his Twitter account.

He said Scammell, came face to face with the monolith this Friday morning while walking his dog in the Laverstock Downs town.

In the videos and in a photo published by the cameraman you can see that someone wrote “Happy New Year”, using his fingers and taking advantage of the fact that the metal object was fogged up by the cold.

Scammell said he found the monument “incredible” and added that he heard about monoliths appearing in other parts of the country. “But having one at Downs, where I have always walked my dog, is a pleasant surprise on New Year’s Day,” he concluded on ITV.

What is a monolith?

According to the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language, it is a “one-piece stone monument”.

Worldwide, monoliths have an important cultural impact as they are representative pieces of a country, as in the case of Stonehenge, a megalithic monument located in England.

However, the monoliths are found closely tied to issues related to alien activity, as literary or cinematographic works of science fiction have shown it.

Monolith that appeared in Chía

Chía (Cundinamarca) joined at the time Utah (USA), California (USA), Russia and Romania, localities where similar occurrences have been recorded.

The appearance of the monolith in Chia was the cause of multiple memes and jokes replicated on social networks.

Although at first it was not known where the monoliths came from and there was speculation with alien theories, later it was learned that a global artistic collective claimed responsibility for the manufacture and design of these pieces.

It is about “The most famous artists”, who shared some photographs of what would be the manufacturing process of the monoliths on their Instagram account.
