The Centro Oriente Health Services Subnet and the Bogotá Health Secretariat confirmed the death of another health professional. This is Dr. Miguel Barragán Nocua, who worked as a general practitioner at the CAPS Chircales in the Rafael Uribe Uribe locality.
“Dr. Barragán was diagnosed with Covid-19 and was being treated at the San Ignacio Hospital. The entity deeply regrets the departure of this professional, who was always a committed, charismatic worker and for years, gave the best of himself, for the health and well-being of the inhabitants of Bogotá, “the secretariat said in a statement.
The entity stated that the guard should not be lowered in the face of the COVID-19 threat, since it continues to represent a high risk for citizens and for medical and healthcare personnel who are on the front line of care.
In addition to him, on May 9 the death of the doctor Enrique Gamarra was reported, who had been in the ICU at the Prado Clinic in Santa Marta for 40 days.
“The aforementioned doctor who worked in various clinics in the city, was a 63-year-old person who suffered from high blood pressure. Although it was diagnosed as positive, 17 days later, the second sample was negative, fulfilling the retrieval criterion (it is a laboratory criterion but not one of clinical evolution), ”highlighted the Prado clinic.
However, the health professional had health complications from Covid-19 and other bacteria, which caused his death.
According to the most recent report from the National Institute of Health, 678 health professionals have Covid-19. Of these, 527 were infected in the midst of exercising their profession. With the death of the two doctors, ten health sector workers have died from the new coronavirus.
