Repudiation has been generated in the department of Quindío after the death of a Creole dog in the center of the municipality of Calarcá. The canine was killed by a man in his 70s because, apparently, minutes before he had bitten it.
According to Beatriz Elena Aristizábal, a Calarcá councilor and one of the people who witnessed the events, the man got off his motorcycle, took the knife from his briefcase and attacked the dog to death.
“ With the same cruelty that he did, he got on his motorcycle and was going to leave, but the people of the sector knocked down the motorcycle despite the threats of this man who intimidated them with the knife, Meanwhile, several people called the police, who arrived almost immediately and searched him and found the knife. The puppy died almost immediately, ” said the councilor.

According to Aristizábal, the man was transferred to La Misericordia de Calarcá hospital, where the bite was checked. ” The truth is, I didn’t see any blood or torn pants, but he had a scratch that according to him was caused by the dog. The complaint was filed with the Prosecutor’s Office against this man, who is not a street dweller or a drug user, as is more common to see in these cases. ”
The Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that the man continues to be detained in Calarcá but has not yet been presented at a judicial hearing.

The process will continue, but ” we know that the man will be released during the investigation. I asked him why he had done that and he said that he was very angry that I had bitten him. The most curious thing is that he says that he lives on a farm with more dogs. The other thing is that this man had a big knife because he supposedly sells chickens but he said that when he went out to collect he carried that knife because he had to defend himself, Just as he stabbed the dog, he can do it with anyone who generates anger, for me he is a danger to the community, ” added the councilor.
