A prosecutor from the Special Group for the Fight Against Animal Abuse (Gelma) charged a 54-year-old man as allegedly responsible for the crime of animal abuse.

The events took place on October 17 in the rural area of Purificación, Tolima, where the accused, apparently, seriously injured a dog with a firearm named Negro.

The severity of the injury forced veterinarians to amputate the affected limb
According to information from the investigating body, the event occurred in the middle of an act of intolerance because, according to the accused, the animal attacked a herd of sheep on his property.

The dog was evaluated by a veterinarian who established that the companion animal, of a creole breed and one and a half years old, had firearm impact trauma with excessive bleeding. The severity of the injury forced veterinarians to amputate the affected limb.
