A forensic technical opinion. That is the only thing that the Prosecutor’s Office is waiting to present the indictment against Paul Naranjo and Jualián Ortegón for the murder of Ana María Castro, which occurred on March 5, 2020.
With the document they hope to reinforce the hypothesis that it was an aggravated femicide and that the 21-year-old girl would have received a blow to the left eye that does not match the pattern of the fall and the other injuries that caused her. death. But EL TIEMPO also established that the investigators are analyzing various calls and behaviors of Naranjo and Ortegón while Ana María lay dying on a platform on Calle 80 with a 68k run.

Reporters from this newspaper accessed procedural pieces that have not been revealed and in one of them one of the people who arrived at the scene of the murder assured that Ana María was babbling something, that she was still warm and that she was moving her eyes.
“I saw the girl on the ground, breathing, trying to breathe (…), “said a biochemical engineer who arrived at the scene on his motorcycle and whose statements join those of the prosecutor’s witness -Gabriel – who said he saw how they threw her out of a car: “She is spilling a lot of blood and the car went out at full speed. They dumped the young woman and a man is here (Mateo Reyes) supposedly helping (…) I saw her how to move but I think she was dying“.

The recording of the ambulance operator with another witness confirms that Ana María was alive: “She is like trying to breathe and her eyes are open: ‘Hey, you hear me.’ (…) their lips are turning pale. She is already pale, she’s breathing hard. “
Paul and Julian’s Itinerary
EL TIEMPO also established what Paul and Julián did while the young woman was taken to a hospital where they could not save her life.
The story is told in a procedural piece that no one has reached: the complaint for libel and slander that Paul Naranjo filed 13 days after the murder, after receiving threats and insults on social networks.

As a victim, Paul told details that do not appear in the file where his name is in the box of the possible perpetrator.
EL TIEMPO has in its possession the so-called criminal news and in this the young photographer assures that he was seeking to have a romantic relationship with Ana María.

And he narrates the last minutes he spent with her and what he did until dawn: “”It was very quiet in the car. I saw Ana María and Mateo kissing and touching in the rear-view mirror. Mateo had a hand on his chest and my reaction was to stop and exclaim: Hey, it’s serious: you are in a relationship and should go to a motel (…) My friend’s reaction was to get out of the car, open the door. and tell them to get off. He grabbed Ana María and Mateo in the same way“.
What did they do next?
The two calls to Ana María
Paul says Julian got into the Kia truck and they drove safely to his apartment.
And here are two pieces of information that have caught the attention of researchers. In the entire statement, made on March 18, the young woman is mentioned as Ana María Romero and not as Ana María Castro. In addition, Paul said that day that, after leaving her on Calle 80, that night he called Ana María twice on her cell phone, without her answering. The calls would have come in when she was dying.

However, a guard from Julián’s group said that he heard when Paul told his friend: ‘That’s where that girl’s cell phone stayed.’ And then, in an interview with EL TIEMPO, his lawyer admitted that the cell phone had been left in Paul’s car and that it had been lost. Why then was he calling her if he knew the cell phone was in the Kia?
They both went to ‘Heaven’
In addition to the calls to Ana María, Paul assures that they arrived at Julián’s apartment and asked for a bottle of orange vodka at home.
“I made a video call with a friend on WhatsApp, showing them where I was. And I also spoke with other friends on WhatsApp, finally I invited a friend to Julián’s apartment,” Paul said in his complaint.

And add: “She arrived and we took the bottle she had asked for. My friend told me that she wanted us to go to a place that she knew called ‘Heaven’, which is a sunrise. We asked for a beat and we went with my friend to the street 63 with Caracas, to the establishment ‘Cielo’. When we arrived, I had no money and my friend Julián did not have to pay the Beat either. However, I went up with my friend, I went to the site to see how she was, when we got down at 10 minutes my friend Julian was gone. Apparently, he had gone home “.
What happened to Julian?
Paul claimed in the complaint that he asked his friend to call a Beat service and went to Julián’s apartment to pick up the Kia. but the guard did not want to give it to him because he told him that he did not know him.
(In context: ‘Ana María Castro’s family does not want money but justice’)
“I called Julian on several occasions to let me get the car out: on one of them he answered me, he told me that he was already getting off, but he never got off,” said Paul. And he added that he contacted the person who lives in the same place and he told him that Julian had fallen asleep and that she could not help him get the Kia out.
He says that after a while he gave up and sent his mother the photo of the address where he was, told her that Julián had turned off his cell phone and went home.
He assured that he went to bed to sleep and that he woke up at noon on that same March 5 and saw a message on Facebook in which a friend of Ana María asked her if she was still with Ana María: “I answered no (… ) and after a while he wrote to me and told me that they had found Ana María beaten and dead. “

According to Paul, the threats against him through social networks began.
While the defense of Paul and Julián are sure that there was no femicide and that they will be able to prove it, the Prosecutor’s Office will use all these elements to insist that Ana María was murdered and that both young people must respond to justice.
