Ana María Castro: Paul Naranjo, indicated responsible for the death, was handed over – Investigative Unit

Paul Naranjo, linked to the investigation into the violent death of Ana María Castro, on March 5, 2020, has just turned himself in to the authorities.

The information, revealed first by EL TIEMPO, was confirmed by his lawyer John Cadena who, prior to the delivery, held a meeting.

“He handed himself over directly to the prosecutor in the Paloquemao judicial complex,” explained the criminal lawyer in dialogue with reporters from this newspaper.

This is the moment when Paul Naranjo turns himself in to the authorities.

Naranjo had an arrest warrant and for the same facts for which Julián Ortegón is already detained, who was charged with aggravated femicide.

The witnesses

As revealed by EL TIEMPO, at least one eyewitness assures that Ana María was thrown from the Kia truck that Natanjo was driving that morning.

Ortegón’s defense said, in the appeal of the measure that it is physically impossible that they had thrown it. And it opened the possibility that he had fallen when the truck started.

And Naranjo’s defense assures that Mateo Reyes, another of those who was with Ana María that night, gave a first version according to which they got out of the truck and the young woman was alive.

But the witness, who called line 123, said he saw when he fell like a rag doll.

For the Prosecutor’s Office and for the lawyers of Ana María’s family, it is clear that it was a crime and that Paul Naranjo was upset because Ana María was kissing Mateo Reyes.

Another witness claims to have seen the body of the young woman, 21, in the middle of a pool of blood and with the white feather vest with which he was seen leaving the bar with Naranjo, Ortegón and Gómez.
