In less than 45 minutes, the judge in the case confirmed in all its parts the decision of the guarantee judge who agreed to have an intramural security measure imposed on her for the alleged commission of the crime of aggravated femicide.

For the Prosecutor’s Office and the family’s lawyers, it is clear that it was a crime and not an accident, one of the hypotheses that the defense of Paul Naranjo aired.

Will not accept wrongful death

In addition, they assured that out of jealousy, Paul Naranjo, in competition with his friend Julian Ortegon, they had thrown the young woman from the Kia truck in which they left the Cantina Plaza México rumba venue, in the north of Bogotá.

Naranjo himself assured that he was seeking to have a romantic relationship with Ana María and that he had been upset because he saw her kissing and touching herself in the back seat of the truck with Mateo Reyes.

In a testimony revealed exclusively by EL TIEMPO, he said: “There was a lot of silence in the car. I saw Ana María and Mateo kissing and touching in the rear-view mirror. Mateo had a hand on his chest and my reaction was to stop and exclaim: Hey, it’s serious: you are in a relationship and must go to a motel (…) My friend’s reaction was to get out of the car, April door and tell them to get off. He grabbed Ana María and Mateo in the same way“.

In an interview with EL TIEMPO, he said that a video was recovered from the security camera of the Tolima Junkyard that, he says, captured the exact moment in which the Kia that Paul Naranjo was driving stopped for 47 seconds on Calle 80 with Carrera 68 K.

“The images show that both Ana María Castro and Mateo Reyes got out of the car alive,” Cadena said.

And he added that a new witness questioned the statement of the man who called 123 and said he had seen a woman fall like a “rag doll.”

The lawyer refers to a motorcyclist who claims to have been the first person to arrive at the scene. The man, surnamed Flechas, stated that when he passed by the scene of the events alone (Calle 80 with Carrera 68 k) Ana María was dying and Mateo Reyes asking for help.

“It is impossible for the prosecutor’s witness to say that he saw when they threw her out of the car if she arrived much later, when the truck had already started,” explained the criminal.

And he stressed that the prosecution witness turned out to be a friend of someone close to Ana María’s family.

Ana Maria Castro blow

This is the blow to Ana María Castro’s left eye that forensic experts analyze.

However, EL TIEMPO established that the Prosecutor’s Office lists the indictment with new evidence. In fact, an expert opinion is evaluated that would explain the blow that Ana María presented in her left eye, which is not related to the fall.

And Julián Ortegón?

TIME established that Julian Ortegon, accused of co-authorship of femicide, was also pending that the appeal of his arrest measure be resolved this week.

But the judge in the case asked to reschedule the hearing for a medical disability.

And although for some Paul and Julián have distanced themselves, Naranjo says that they are still friends but that they have been held incommunicado.
