In recent weeks, the administration of Salvemos Juntos a Cartagena has been under the scrutiny of the District Comptroller’s Office for alleged irregularities in the contract for the provision of service and support for the high-confidence management held by the first lady of the District, Cynthia Pérez Amador.
Yesterday it was known that the control body opened a lawsuit of fiscal responsibility, and transferred to the Attorney General’s Office and the Prosecutor’s Office to investigate officials of the Mayor’s Office of Cartagena, after leaving firm a report where it warns of an alleged patrimonial detriment that would have been incurred with said contract. According to the findings, this contract would also not meet the criteria for the provision of highly trusted specialized services, since Pérez Amador does not have a professional title or the required experience.
In addition, the Prosecutor’s Office would be investigating her after a complaint in which it is noted that she allegedly presented a false employment certificate.
After this, today the mayor, in a press conference to talk about the actions of the Police against crime, defended Pérez Amador’s work, remembering that he is the person he trusts the most and therefore is reason enough to have contract.
“Cynthia Amador is a person of my absolute confidence, there are things in the Cartagena administration that I do not trust more than Cynthia to discuss and ask for advice, that qualifies her to have a highly trusted contract. Due to the fact that she is black, that she comes from living in the El Reposo neighborhood, because of the fact that she does not have a university degree, they cannot be stigmatized, she is a very valuable person, regardless of whether she does not have the degrees that would be required to such a valuable OPS, it more than meets the requirements for a highly trusted contract, “said the president.
Regarding the alleged falsification of the document, Dau indicated that he hopes that this is not the case, but that, if it turns out to be true, this would not invalidate the contract, since it does not require proof of experience.
“What Cynthia has is a high trust contract, she does not need certain titles, nor does she require proof of experience, just for me to say why she is highly trustworthy, then, God forbid that is not true, but if it becomes true, not at all it would invalidate the high trust contract that she has, there would be no detriment to the patrimony ”.

The mayor also assured that it is strange to him that the Cartagena District has always had a large number of contracts for OPS and they were never investigated, despite the fact that several of these were “fictitious.”
