An alleged thief killed and a wounded police patrol car left a shooting that took place this Saturday afternoon on 33E street between races 3 and 4, Universal neighborhood, Barranquilla.
The case occurred at around 2 in the afternoon when 32-year-old patrolman Iván David Noriega Durán was in civilian clothes, after finishing his shift.
When he arrived at his residence, he was intercepted by two men, who, carrying firearms, intimidated him with the apparent intention of robbing him. He resisted and a struggle and exchange of shots began.

In the shooting, the patrolman received six bullet wounds: one in the abdomen, another in the left arm, one in the axillary region on the left side, a shot in the left shoulder, another in the right buttock and another in the left inguinal region. . The uniformed man was transferred to the Police Clinic, but due to the seriousness of the injuries he was referred to the Costa clinic, where he is receiving medical attention.
