Judge 47 with the guarantee control function has just ordered that three telephone companies review and deliver the text and voice messages, as well as the call records linked to the 7 SIM cards, seized in January 2020 in Juan’s cell Guillermo Monsalve, the designated star witness in the process against Álvaro Uribe for alleged bribery of witnesses and procedural fraud.

EL TIEMPO revealed this weekend the request of the prosecutor Gabriel Jaimes to add them to the file and confirmed that the CTI already knows some of the contents.

For this reason, Jaimes requested that the information found be officially added to the file in the category of relevant evidence.

Sources close to the investigation told EL TIEMPO that they found a list of contacts that show who Monsalve was chatting with and if it had to do with the acquisition of a farm worth more than 500 million pesos.

EL TIEMPO established that Senator Iván Cepeda’s lawyer assured that said evidence did not comply with the chain of custody.

However, he did not appeal the decision to add the information to the file. At the same hearing, the criminal lawyer Jaime Lombana, members of the defense of the former president, was present.

Among the telephone companies that will be required are Calro, Tigo, Éxito, Movistar and Avantel.

In Uribe’s defense criteria, that information could be key in the investigation and the Court apparently did not take it into account.

In this regard, Senator Iván Cepeda assured that the Prosecutor’s Office forgot the accused and is now investigating the witness and him, who is the victim.

In fact, the lawyer Víctor Mosquera denounced Cepeda for alleged destruction or concealment of information related to the messages that Monsalve met.
