Álvaro Uribe case: this is the judge who was assigned the case of the former president – Investigation – Justice

After the decision of the Prosecutor’s Office to preclude the process for bribery and procedural fraud against the former president Alvaro Uribe Velez, This Friday it was known in the hands of who will be the case in future.

It’s about the 28th judge of knowledge, Carmen Helena Ortiz, who was assigned after the prosecuting body filed the request to close the process at the Paloquemao Judicial Services Center.

Now, Ortíz will have to summon the parties to a hearing in which the Prosecutor’s Office must explain its reasons for requesting that the case be precluded. Then the victims accredited in the process, the Attorney General’s Office and the defense of the former president will be heard.

If the judge accepts the preclusion request, the victims could appeal that decision and the case would go to the Superior Court of Bogotá.

If the opposite situation occurs, and the robed denies the request for estoppel, the Prosecutor’s Office would be faced with having to decide whether to present an accusation with what it has, or whether to reformulate its request for estoppel.
