After the decision of the judge 30 of guarantees, which granted him immediate freedom, former President Álvaro Uribe launched harsh questions against his counterparts in the process that he is being led for alleged manipulation of witnesses and traced part of the path towards 2022.

The judge pointed out that when the process passed from the system, the investigation was led by the Prosecutor’s Office He must advance in the investigations that will allow him to reach the decision whether or not to charge former President Uribe.

He insisted that the Prosecutor’s Office cannot be required to present an accusation statement on a process that he is hearing.

Since last August 4, Uribe has been under arrest at his farm El Ubérrimo, near Montería, after the Supreme Court of Justice ruled his house arrest.

The ex-president started his statement by clarifying that “there is no claim of mine that violates the penal code” and insisted that during the passage of his case by the Supreme Court of Justice some guarantees were violated.

“I am in a process that began secretly, in the middle of the electoral campaign, they intercepted 22 thousand conversations from my cell phone. I cannot question the so-called star witness of the process,” said Uribe

Later he questioned Senator Iván Cepeda.

“The senator who accuses me visited that witness more than 11 times and has made donations to a political NGO, the senator who accuses me has made constant visits to prisons (…) other people, alleged victims, have confirmed that they led the Prosecutor’s Office with
rage against my colleagues in political action, my family and myself. “

In addition to Cepeda, former prosecutor Eduardo Montealegre and former vice prosecutor Jorge Fernando Perdomo were also constituted as victims in the process against Uribe.

‘Watch out for 22’

Later, the ex-president referred to some issues of national events and raised some issues of what would be the path for 2022, the year in which there are elections.

“We must insist on the repeal of the JEP and on the reform of the Havana accords, saving respect and support for those reinserted in good faith,” said Uribe.

The former senator again insisted on the proposal to promote a referendum in which issues such as the repeal of the JEP and changes in the judicial system are discussed.

“Let’s also think about a referendum that reduces Congress and bureaucracy,
adopt a vertex rule for the dome of justice, guarantee entry
in solidarity with the poorest, and confirm the seizure of the drug without criminalizing
to the consumer. That the JEP repeal and grant guarantees to the members of the
Armed Forces, also to those demobilized in good faith, “said the former president.

Uribe also referred to what he calls “the class hatred of socialism.”

To the class hatred of socialism let us oppose our conviction of Economy
Fraternal. To the confiscations of socialism, to its suffocating taxes and restrictions, which inhibit creativity, let us oppose with more security, more companies that offer more opportunities, more social cohesion, more education, more
entrepreneurship and more remuneration, “he said.

The ex-president, who announced that “I will keep up the fight for my honor”, concluded his speech with a striking message: “Be careful with 22.”
