A comedy of situations, with characters that represented different idiosyncrasies, was what Alicia del Carpio gave to Colombian television in the beginning with ‘Yo y tú’.

Between 1956 and 1976 it was on the air and she was Doña Alicita, the central axis of the program, in which several of the most important television actors of the moment participated, many of them deceased.

After spending several decades in Colombia, Alicia del Carpio returned to Spain, her country of origin, where she died on December 10 at the age of 90.

In addition to being an actress, Alicia Merklin del Carpio, her real name, was a presenter and librettist. She came to Colombia in the 1950s, when the then director of the National Radio Broadcasting Company, Rafael Maya, invited her to work for six months. Del Carpio was linked to Radio Nacional de España at that time.

He arrived in Bogotá with his mother and brother, and after requesting a work permit he began his walk on the radio. The six months of his contract became half a century of residence in Colombia and at the end of the 1960s he received nationality.

‘Yo y tú’ was the entertainment program on television, it was broadcast once a week and there were actors such as Consuelo Luzardo, Carlos Muñoz and Pepe Sánchez.
