Hoyos, who lived to be 74, was born in Pereira, Risaralda. It is particularly recognized because in the 1980s it positioned its chain of restaurants not only in the Coffee Region, but also in Medellín and Bogotá. Although a decade ago he served pizzas and ice cream, a trip to the United States led him to join the fried chicken boom, a product that launched him to fame and allowed him to expand to more than 60 cities with 256 stores.

“Don Alfredo Hoyos was a businessman champion of Conscious Capitalism who worked with a higher purpose that was to feed with love, to contribute to the development of the country. With his vision, inspiring leadership, experience and philosophy of life, he impacted society and every person with whom he came in contact, ”Frisby recalled.

In fact, throughout his life, Alfredo Hoyos received innumerable awards, both for his management and for the achievements of his company. Just at the beginning of the month, the business newspaper Portafolio presented the founder of Frisby with the Premio Vida y Obra Empresarial award. In addition, in August of this year Frisby was recognized as one of the 18 most inspiring companies in the country by the Andi Foundation among a group of 80 firms.

Currently, Frisby has 4,000 employees, 197 own restaurants and 59 franchises for a total of 256, located in more than 60 municipalities in Colombia.

“Frisby SA will continue to preserve its legacy and its superior purpose, as a brand and as a company, always with the vision of working for a better country,” the statement concludes.
