The justice of Cape Verde replaced the intramural detention against the Barranquilla Álex Saab with domiciliary. This, for having exceeded the legal terms without his extradition to the United States being defined.
This was confirmed by the Attorney General’s Office of that country when noting that the process against the indicated figurehead of Nicolás Maduro, in the hands of the Supreme Court, continues its normal course.

The decision comes 24 hours after Venezuela insisted that the West African Court of Justice (Cedeao) had already ordered Cape Verde to grant it house arrest.

According to the agency Efe, the decision to grant him this benefit was made by the Barlavento Court of Appeals. “The immediate release orders will be produced after the presentation of adequate housing endorsed by the criminal authorities, and in which (Saab) must remain at all times while the ongoing extradition process continues,” says the decision.
EL TIEMPO established that, before appointing Saab as Venezuela’s permanent and plenipotentiary ambassador, Maduro had investigated the possibility of opening an embassy in Cape Verde.

But his purpose did not prosper and now there is talk of enabling a hotel so that the Barranquilla can meet with his copious defense, while the Supreme Court of Justice defines in the next few days whether to extradite him to the United States.
Just 24 hours ago, Antony Blinken, nominated as Secretary of State by Joe Biden, called Maduro a “brutal dictator,” and said he supported continuing to recognize Juan Guaidó as the legitimate president of Venezuela.

For the United States, Saab is the key to reaching agreements under the table between the regime and the governments of Iran, Turkey and Russia.
In fact, they hope that the first week of February the extradition of the aforementioned figurehead will be defined, in whose process several of his relatives and relatives will be included.
