To join the ‘club’, now you see how “The alternative of the center”, with Sergio Fajardo, looks stained by the most recent accusation of the General Comptroller of the Republic, for irregularities in the case Hidroituango, against him ex-governor from Antioquia.

Akerman goes on to say that because of his “visions of the country project” he ranks in “the center” and that for that reason he dedicated his weekly column to focus on the accusation against Fajardo.

Despite this, Akerman points out that Fajardo was responsible for “most of the execution of the project” and that he was “the largest owner of the work, with 50.7% of the investment”.

In fact, Akerman recalls that when Fajardo was a presidential candidate, in 2018, he published a statement in which “He denied any responsibility for the problems of Hidroituango”.

In an excerpt from the document, published on May 13, 2018, and compiled by Akerman, Fajardo wrote: “The government that I led (2012-2015) has no responsibility for what is happening.”

In this video, published last Friday, Sergio Fajardo responded to the accusation of the Comptroller’s Office:

Fajardo delegated the manager of the Institute for the Development of Antioquia (Idea). Board meeting minutes, published by Akerman, account for how The Idea was an active part of the planning and contracting of Hidroituango.

But Akerman goes further and says that when things began to fail, Fajardo received reports in which it was detailed “the situation of Hidroituango and the problems that there They were happening”.

Problems in the salary scale of workers, project delays, contractor problems, defaults, cost overruns and other issues were reported to Fajardo, according to the documents released by Akerman.

The columnist points out that Fajardo ended his post as governor of Antioquia in 2015 and, in doing so, presented Hidroituango as “One of the great results of his administration”.

Finally, the columnist recriminates the former governor for his position in meet the imputation for the case. “Washing his hands and holding the other actors responsible, as he is doing, does not look good at all,” concludes Akerman in El Espectador.
