After talks, Alianza Verde rules out coalition with Petro for presidential elections

In an official statement, the Green Alliance reported this Friday who will be the members of the so-called Coalition of Hope that will go to a consultation in March 2022 to choose their sole candidate for the presidential elections.

Said candidates will be: Ángela María Robledo, Juan Manuel Galán, Sergio Fajardo, Juan Fernando Cristo, Jorge Enrique Robledo and Humberto de la Calle. The statement said that this agreement was reached by “the National Executive Committee of the Green Alliance Party and the majority of the Senate and House of Representatives bench.”

A second agreement is “to soon make the official presentation of the programmatic and electoral platform of the Coalition of Hope, built in a participatory manner with the citizens.”

As reported by SEMANA, the Executive of the Green Alliance authorized exploratory talks with Senator Gustavo Petro, with a view to a possible alliance for 2022.

Precisely, regarding those dialogues with the leader of Human Colombia, the statement says: “The co-presidents of our party, Antonio Navarro Wolff and Carlos Ramón González, held a dialogue with Senator Gustavo Petro. The Green Alliance will talk with all democratic and opposition sectors to guarantee respectful competition ”.
