For their part, Orlando Martínez and his friends go up every morning from Calarcá to wash trailers to earn the day. “It benefits us in many things because many more tourists come,” they say.

For the first time, you have to pay a toll from Calarcá to Cajamarca. Now La Línea is no longer a simple road, it is a tourist and proud place where everyone wants to stop and take a memory.

The Coffee Axis is one of the areas that will benefit the most from the opening of the Line Tunnel. Its residents hope that reducing travel time will help improve trade and increase tourism in the area.

In dialogue with RCN News, the Minister of Transportation, Ángela María Orozco, referred to the Tunnel of the Line project that was inaugurated this Friday for the service of all Colombians.

“The most important thing is that the Pacific Coast is closer to the center of the country. Only with the commissioning of what is being delivered today, there is a saving of 50 minutes for all those who cross the tunnel ”.
