A woman from Santander was elected as a magistrate of the Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice

The Supreme Court of Justice completed the Plenary Chamber of 23 magistrates, as well as the Special Investigation and First Instance Chambers of the high court, with the appointment this Thursday of the Santander Hilda González Neira.

The judge is a native of Suaita and graduated from the Autonomous University of Bucaramanga as a Doctor of Law. He also has a master’s degree in administrative law from the Universidad Libre de Bogotá.

His studies also include a specialization in university teaching, from the Santo Tomás University in Bogotá, as well as a specialization in private economic law and legal and procedural institutions, from the National University.

He has experience as a municipal civil judge in Bogotá and La Calera. In the same way, she was a magistrate of the Superior Court of Bogotá and of the Superior Court of Manizales.

Hilda González will occupy the position left vacant more than a year ago by Magistrate Ariel Salazar in the Civil Chamber. Apparently, the Court had not reached a consensus to appoint an applicant during all this time.

Through its Twitter account, the Court released the news: “@CorteSupremaJ unanimously chooses career judge Hilda González Neira as the new magistrate of the Civil Cassation Chamber of the highest court of ordinary jurisdiction.”
